The Maccabees - Go

Most literal interpretation:

Instinctively I thought of a traffic light image so this could be the literal approach to this album cover.

Because The Maccabees are an indie band I chose photos of traffic lights that looked more ambiguous and as if they were taken on a disposable camera for a more disrupted aesthetic. 

Most ambiguous:

There is a lot of movement in the word go. There could be lines following each other. This album cover will be slightly more abstract and keep with a black and white colour because the other one is more vibrant. It will be either one consistent line to show a fluid stream of it "going" or it will be a series of lines to show an abundance of things moving.

I then looked at the lyrics and could perceive the album in an illustrative way using one of the lines as imagery to base an illustration from. There is a lot of imagery of the sun and windows so that could be the more ambiguous interpretation. 

I started off with really simple illustrations - the ones on the right then I listened to the entire track and drew a consistent line whilst it was playing and the circle is what I came up with.
